On December 23, 2022, in Hoa Binh province, the Faculty of Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, University of Law, VNU held a scientific seminar on the content "Science of Vietnamese Administrative Law: From Tradition to Modernity”. This is a seminar organized to discuss and comprehensively evaluate the views, achievements, changes, and development trends of Vietnam's administrative law from 1945 until now. Besides, the seminar was also held to express gratitude for the contributions of Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Thai to the development of the science of Vietnamese administrative law.

Attending the Seminar, the Organizing Committee was pleased to welcome the presence of experts, scholars, colleagues, and generations of students of Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Thai, namely Prof.Dr. Dao Tri Uc – Member of the State Council of Professorship, Chairman of the Council of Professors of Law; Prof. Dr. Vo Khanh Vinh – Former Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Vice Chairman of the Council of Professors of Law; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Dung – Former Vice Dean of the VNU School of Law, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Former Deputy Head of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Tat Vien - Former Member of the Central Standing Committee of Judicial Reform and many experts and scholars from other institutions, training, and research units.

Speaking at the opening of the Seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Cong Giao proudly reiterates the contributions of Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Thai in law research and training at the VNU University of Law and other law training and research institutions. He also expressed his sincere thanks to the experts and scholars who did not mind the long distance to attend and discuss at the Seminar today.

Speaking to welcome the Seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh, on behalf of the Governing Board, expressed her gratitude to Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Thai, one of Vietnam's leading experts on modern administrative law, a manager and a lecturer who has made many contributions to the formation and development of the VNU School of Law *(now the VNU University Law). She also proudly affirms that this seminar is the continuation of the tradition and culture of the University in gratitude to experts and previous generations for their contributions to the legal studies, training, and scientific research activities of the University.

The seminar received 45 articles from colleagues, experts, and even students of Prof. Pham Hong Thai from all over the country.

During the 4 consecutive hours of the Seminar, experts discussed enthusiastically historical periods of administrative law and the science of administrative law in Vietnam. Experts and scholars attending the seminar also discussed new trends in administrative law associated with the requirements of deep integration, and strategic orientation to build and improve the Socialist Rule-of-law State in Vietnam in the new period.

At the end of the seminar, the organizers took the time to appreciate Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Thai's contributions to the development of administrative law.
